Her love of chamber music has involved her in several accomplished smaller ensembles including Voices of Music\, Galax Quartet\, Live Oak Baroque\, Ars Lyrica Houston Chamber Players\, Sarasa\, and Severall Friends. Ms. Blumenstock teaches for Juilliard’s Historical Performance Program\, at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music\, American Bach Soloists’ Summer Festival and Academy\, the International Baroque Institute at Longy\, and the Valley of the Moon Music Festival. She plays a 1660 Andrea Guarneri violin built in Cremona\, Italy\, on generous loan to her from the Philharmonia Baroque Period Instrument Trust.\n			\n	\n	\n	Close\n[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/5″][vc_single_image image=”18817″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle” css=”” qode_css_animation=”” el_class=”grayscale”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=””] \nJudith Linsenberg\nRecorder \n[/vc_column_text]Read More\n\n	\n		\n			\n			 \nJudith Linsenberg\n  \nCalled “the Jascha Heifetz of the recorder\,” Judith Linsenberg is one of the leading exponents of the recorder in the US and has been acclaimed for her “virtuosity\,” “expressivity\,” and “fearless playing.” She has performed throughout the US and Europe\, including solo appearances at the Hollywood Bowl and Lincoln Center; and has been featured with such leading ensembles as the San Francisco Symphony\, the SF and Los Angeles Operas\, the Oregon Symphony\, LA Chamber Orchestra\, Philharmonia Baroque\, American Bach Soloists\, the Portland and Seattle Baroque Orchestras\, the Oregon and Carmel Bach Festivals\, among others. The winner of national performance awards\, she has premiered several new works for the recorder and has recorded for Virgin Classics\, Dorian\, Solimar\, Navona\, harmonia mundi usa\, Koch International\, Reference Recordings\, Musical Heritage Society\, Drag City Records (with Joanna Newsom)\, and Hännsler Classics. She holds a doctorate in early music from Stanford University\, and has been a visiting professor at the Vienna Conservatory and Indiana University’s Early Music Institute. However it was her teacher Deirdre Ward\, one of the violin faculty at Chetams School of Music and a modern and baroque violinist\, that helped inspire her to take up music professionally. \nIn 2006\, Stephanie moved back to the U.S. in order to pursue a BM in modern violin performance at the University of North Texas with Dr. Igor Borodin and Julia Bushkova and in 2007 she was one of the winners of the UNT Concerto Competition with Shotakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 in A minor under the direction of Maestro Anshel Brusilow. \nWhilst at UNT\, Stephanie actively participated in the baroque program\, initially starting baroque violin lessons with Cynthia Roberts and then viola da gamba with Pat Nordstrom and Allen Whear. In 2009 and 2011 she had the opportunity to perform with the UNT Baroque Orchestra at BEMF (Boston Early Music Festival) \nIn 2011 Stephanie continued her education at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the direction of Stanley Ritchie and the EMI (Early Music Institute) faculty where\, in 2013\, she obtained a Master of Music in Early Music Performance. Most recently\, she won the Indianapolis Baroque Concerto Competition with Vivaldi’s Concerto for 3 Violins in F major and performed with the IBO. \nAdditionally\, Stephanie has played with ensembles such as the Denton Bach Society\, Orchestra of New Spain\, Austin Baroque Orchestra\, San Francisco Bach Choir\, Ascolti\, Vox Reflexa\, Exordium\, Aston Magna\, and Mountainside Baroque. She began\nher career at the age of 21 with the New York Pro Musica\, and has played with most of the major ensembles in the field\, including the Waverly Consort\, The Folger Consort\, Philharmonia Baroque\, the Seattle Baroque Orchestra\, Musica Sacra of New York\, and Pomerium Musices\, to name a few. In 1983 she became Musician in-Residence at the Newberry Library\, and was the director of the Newberry Consort for 20 years. In 2008\, she fulfilled a lifelong dream\, and moved to New Mexico. Since then\, she has travelled widely\, working with Sonoma Bach\, the Lobo Baroque Orchestra\, the Arizona Bach Society\, Ars Lyrica of Houston\, The Texas Early Music Project of Austin\, and continues to work with Drew Minter\, and her beloved colleagues at the Folger Consort. She can be heard on dozens of recordings. Springfels is also a very active teacher and coach. She has been featured in the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival since 1996\, and in festivals in the United States\, Japan\, Peru and Germany. A resident of Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, she has appeared on every local concert series\, and with the Santa Fe Symphony\, Santa Fe Pro Musica and Serenata of Santa Fe. McIntosh is a champion of contemporary music. She appeared regularly with the series 20th Century Unlimited and is part of the McFish Duo. From 1999-2009\, she performed with the Vail Valley Bravo! Festival\, which commissioned a work by Melinda Wagner especially for her that premiered in the 2005 season. Other premieres have included works by Leo Brouwer\, John Steinmetz\, Carl Mansker\, Alex Shapiro and many others. \nMcIntosh has been soloist with the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin in Moscow\, Vietnam National Symphony in Hanoi\, Solistas de La Habana\, Santa Fe Friends in Tsuyama\, Japan\, and with many American groups. She teaches regularly in Cuba as part of the Semana Sacra sponsored by the national cathedral\, in Peru at the national conservatory in Lima\, and in Opole\, Poland at the Diecezjalny Instytut Musyki Koscielnej. In November 2015\, she performed the entire Clavier-Ubung of J.S.Bach in five concerts in Los Angeles\, California\, with organist Ron McKean and harpsichordist Janine Johnson. Ms. McIntosh was a student of John Hamilton and Thurston Dart.
